Many thanks for PCs received last Hope this finds you will [sic]
There is a lot of sickness in Swaledale now Influenza is going
about we have all had the influenza colds. Tom Hugill took a
fit and died on Sunday the 27th of Feb we have had some very
frosty weather but is thawing mostly now

stir on Shortest Day on account of it being a fine day it was
our Reading Room Supper on the 9 & 10th of this month had
a very enjoyable time of it we are having some awful stormy
weather here I guess you will be having much the same hoping
