Close, Thomas of Rampsholme
 
This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Close of Rampsholme in the Township of Muker parish of Grinton County of York Yeoman I give devise and bequeath to my Executors Joseph Daykin of Dikeheads in the Parish of Grinton Farmer and to William Alderson Shoemaker of Lodgegreen in the Parish of Grinton County of York there [sic] Executors administrators and assigns All my farming stock household furniture goods chattels personal effects whatsoever and wheresoever Upon trust to sell dispose of and convert into money

I also give devise and bequeath to my before named Executors Joseph Daykin and William Alderson their administrators and Assigns Upon trust the whole of my Copyhold property consisting of one dwellinghouse called the East House and one Chamber over the East Stable and one dairy room with the appurtenances situated at and being within the Territory of Lodgegreen

Also one dwellinghouse with a Barn Stable and other outbuildings thereunto belonging and five closes or parcels of land thereto adjoining called the West Close the East Close the West Bank the East Bank and the red Bank with two Islands adjoining with the appurtenances situated at and being at or within the Territories of Rampsholme in the Township of Muker Manor of Healaugh with four Cattle Gaits and nearby a quarter in Ivelet Common pasture with the appurtenances

I also direct my executors hereinbefore named after all my just debts funeral and Testamentary expences [sic] are paid to pay the whole of the income arising from all my personal and real Estate to my two sisters now residing with me at Rampsholme Nanny Close and Elizabeth Close or to the survivor of them for the term of their natural life and should the income be insoficient [sic] for the maintenance of my before named Sisters

I hereby direct my Executors to borrow money on my real estate and effects as may be required After the death of both my two sisters I order and direct my Executors hereinbefore named to sell and convert into money the whole of my before described Copyhold property toogather [sic] with all my personal estate and effects into money and after there [sic] funeral expences [sic] is paid to divide the residue as follows

I give and bequeath to my Brother Anthony Close his heirs and assigns one fifth part

I also give devise and bequeath to my sister Isabella Langley Wife of John Langley her heirs and assigns one fifth part

I also give devise and bequeath to my sister Margaret Pratt Wife of James Pratt her heirs and assigns one fifth part

I also give devise and bequeath to Nancy Close widow of my late Brother Ralph Close her heirs and assigns one fifth part

I also give devise and bequeath to my niece Isabella Daykin wife of Joseph Daykin her heirs and assigns one tenth part

I also give devise and bequeath to my niece Susannah Alderson wife of William Alderson her heirs and assigns one tenth part and I hereby appoint Joseph Daykin Dikeheads Farmer and William Alderson Shoemaker at Lodge Green both residing in the Township of Melbecks and Parish of Grinton County of York my joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my name this eleventh day of April One thousand eight hundred and seventy
